Filipino activists held a protest march from Jose Rizal Park to Hing Hay Park to voice their opposition to Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr.'s presidency, with chants echoing through the streets of the Chinatown-International District (CID). Jose Rizal Park is named after the national hero of the Philippines, who helped inspire Filipinos to lead a revolution against Spanish colonizers at the end of the 19th century. ABS-CBN reported that at least 533 vote-counting machines were reported defective, while the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) stated that 1, 867 machines experienced technical issues.
